UFPM & PFL Toolkit: Mock PFRA Roster, Checklists and Weather Limits

Free tools for Unit Fitness Program Managers, Peer Fitness Leaders, UFAC staff and PFRA administrators: run a practice PFRA, check the test-day requirements and weather limits, and draft the monthly report. Every rule is cited to AFMAN 36-2905.

Built for the people who run the PFRA

AFMAN 36-2905 (24 March 2026, formerly DAFMAN 36-2905) spreads the unit fitness staff’s rules across Chapters 2, 3 and 5. This page puts them in one place: a mock-PFRA roster for practice sessions, a test-session checklist, an environmental go/no-go check, a monthly report draft and a roles reference, each line cited to its paragraph.

Three ground rules shape all of it. myFitness is the only authorized system to schedule and score PFRAs ¶7.1. The UFPM sets due dates ¶2.28.4. Official results go on the AF Form 4446, and locally produced scorecards can’t be used ¶3.15.15. These tools are for practice, preparation and drafting.

Mock PFRA roster

Run a practice PFRA for your unit. Enter each Airman’s events as they finish and see the composite, category, missed minimums and BFA flag from the official AFPC charts. Export to CSV, or print a roster and a practice card for each Airman.
Saved only in this browser

The roster lives in this browser’s storage on this device. This site never uploads it, and we can’t see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it. Use initials or a roster number; don’t enter names, SSNs or DoD ID numbers. PFRA staff are ordered not to release members’ scores or DoD IDs Att 4.

Practice, not the record

Use it for unit practice sessions and PFL coaching, then test for record through your FAC or UFAC. It isn’t a scheduling tool (locally developed ones aren’t authorized ¶2.24.8), and its printed cards aren’t scorecards: the AF Form 4446 is mandatory ¶3.15.15.

Keyboard shortcuts and formats
  • Tab moves across a row. Enter moves down a column (Shift+Enter moves up); Enter in the last ID cell adds a row.
  • Times: 15:30, 15.30 or 1530. Plank: 2:10 or 210. HAMR: total shuttles.
  • Height in inches (70) or feet and inches (5'10). Waists are scored rounded down to the nearest ½ inch ¶3.15.4.5 and heights to the nearest ½ inch ¶3.15.2.3.
  • New rows copy the events and standard of the row above. Switching between reps and a time clears the value.
  • SW uses the sex-neutral AFSPECWAR/EOD charts for Airmen who take an OSPFRA ¶1.3.3.
  • CSV: keep the template’s header row. In Excel, format the time columns as Text before typing so 15:30 stays 15:30.

No Airmen on the roster yet

Add a row for each Airman in your practice session, import a CSV, or load an example to see how the scoring and flags work.

A mock PFRA here is an informal practice session. It is not a Diagnostic PFRA (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.8), which runs under official conditions and is logged in myFitness.

PT test weather limits: go/no-go check

Enter the conditions from base weather and a look at the course. The check applies the AFMAN 36-2905 limits for rain, lightning, hail, wind, cold, heat (WBGT), visibility, the running surface and traffic, plus the AED, 911 and command suspensions. Nothing is fetched: the numbers are yours.

Conditions change. If severe or rapidly changing weather stops a PFRA, all components are rescheduled for the earliest opportunity, and if that isn’t the members’ fault the unit’s due month moves to the following month ¶3.5.1.
Climate waiver and the indoor HAMR ¶4.4.1–4.4.1.2

During continuous extreme climate, wing, GSU or detachment commanders may waive outdoor cardio assessments when no appropriate indoor facility is available. The waiver covers cardio only, must state the period, and extends to tenant units on the installation. While it’s in effect, members assess on the 20 m HAMR if a certified indoor course exists, unless exempt on the AF Form 469.

Guard and Reserve: indoor HAMR and reassessment ¶3.5.1

AFR members complete the indoor 20 m HAMR when weather prohibits outdoor assessments and no indoor running track is available for the 2-mile run. AFR members whose AF Form 469 authorizes the 2-km walk reassess no later than the next UTA/RSD, and ANG members no later than the next RSD when official assessments are being conducted.

Wind chill, when you leave it blank, is calculated with the National Weather Service formula (in use since November 2001), valid at 50 °F or below with winds above 3 mph. WBGT and dry-bulb devices must be certified by bioenvironmental engineering or a civilian agency (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.14.8).

Frequently asked questions

What does a Unit Fitness Program Manager (UFPM) do?+
The UFPM runs the unit fitness program for the commander and is the liaison between the commander and the UFAC or FAC (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 2.28.1). The UFPM validates each member's FSQ and AF Form 469 status in myFitness and enters exemptions (para. 2.28.3), uploads the most current AF Form 469 and sets the next PFRA due date (para. 2.28.4), starts an AF Form 108 with an FRP appointment after every Unsatisfactory (para. 2.28.7), enrolls members on PFRA Hold in an Adaptive Fitness Program (para. 2.28.8), and notifies the commander when a member reaches one year on PFRA Hold or four Unsatisfactory PFRAs in 24 months (paras. 2.28.8 and 2.28.9). The UFPM also reports the unit's fitness numbers to the commander every month (para. 2.26.7.1).
Who can be a UFPM, a UFAC or a Peer Fitness Leader?+
UFPMs and UFAC members are appointed by the unit commander and must be NCOs or above, or APF-funded civilian equivalents; additional ones may be junior if an NCO supervises them (AFMAN 36-2905 paras. 2.27.1 and 2.28.1). Peer Fitness Leaders are appointed by the unit commander and may be any rank (para. 2.29.1). NAF employees, NAF contractors, APF contractors and ANG State employees can't support the fitness program or conduct assessments (paras. 2.28.1, 2.29.1 and 3.2.1).
What PT score does a Peer Fitness Leader need?+
AFMAN 36-2905 para. 2.29.2 says a PFL will maintain a PFRA of 80 or higher, but also that the appointment is voided for 30 days if the PFL's PFRA drops below 85 or becomes Not Ready, and that reinstatement takes a PFRA of 80 or above plus retraining. The manual doesn't resolve the 80-versus-85 conflict, so ask your FAC or MFL which number your installation applies; 85 or higher satisfies every reading. Civilian PFLs don't take a PFRA, and every PFL needs current hands-on BLS and AED certification (para. 5.4.3).
What are the weather limits for the Air Force PT test?+
Before any outdoor component, AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.14.8 requires no significant rain (0.10 inch per hour or more), no lightning within 5 nautical miles and a 30-minute wait after the last observed lightning, no hail forecast or reported within 25 miles, wind of no more than 15 mph sustained or 20 mph gusting, an air temperature above 34 °F including wind chill, a WBGT of 86 °F or lower (and, where humidity is under 40%, a dry bulb below 90 °F), and visibility over three-quarters of a mile near traffic. The running surface must be free of snow, ice, standing water a group can't avoid and mud that can't be avoided (paras. 3.14.1 to 3.14.3). Commanders should suspend PFRAs when the Air Quality Index is over 100 or for wildfires, natural disasters or a pandemic (para. 4.4.2).
How many members can one PFRA administrator test at once?+
No more than 12 members for each PFRA Administrator (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.15.6.1). The administrator may pair members off as PFRA Monitors to count repetitions and spot-checks their technique. An administrator must never conduct a PFRA alone: someone who isn't testing has to be present besides the members being tested (paras. 3.2.3 and 3.15.6).
Can a phone be used as the stopwatch for the PFRA?+
No. Each PFRA Administrator operates two timing devices, a primary and a back-up, and cell phones are not authorized; a stopwatch must be used as the primary and secondary timer (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.15.5).
How long does the FAC or UFAC have to enter PFRA scores in myFitness?+
Five duty days, with the completed FSQ, AF Form 4446 and AF Form 469 (if applicable) uploaded; scores that aren't entered in myFitness are invalid (AFMAN 36-2905 paras. 2.24.10 and 2.27.9). Guard and Reserve units enter them before the next scheduled RSD or UTA. When the illness or injury block on the AF Form 4446 is marked, the scores are held for the medical evaluation and the commander's review (paras. 3.12.2 to 3.12.4).
Can a unit use this roster instead of myFitness?+
No. myFitness is the only authorized system to schedule and score PFRAs (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 7.1), locally developed scheduling tools such as SharePoint or Excel are not authorized (para. 2.24.8), and official results are recorded on the AF Form 4446, which is mandatory (para. 3.15.15). The mock PFRA roster is for unit practice sessions and coaching.
Is the roster data sent anywhere?+
No. The roster, your checklist ticks and the report draft are saved in your browser's local storage on your device; this site never sends them to a server. Use initials or roster numbers rather than names, SSNs or DoD ID numbers: PFRA staff are ordered not to release members' fitness scores, DoD IDs or medical information (AFMAN 36-2905 Attachment 4).
What goes in the UFPM monthly report?+
AFMAN 36-2905 para. 2.26.7 lists the numbers the UFPM reports to the unit commander each month: personnel administered a PFRA; overdue or not tested; Unsatisfactory, Satisfactory and Excellent results; members on PFRA Hold; members enrolled in the Adaptive Fitness Program; members in the Fitness Reconditioning Program, with the length of time enrolled and the number completing it successfully; and the status of the UFAC (if applicable), the PFRA Administrators (if required) and the Peer Fitness Leaders. Follow your wing's format.
