AFMAN 36-2905 (24 Mar 2026)AFPC charts eff. 1 Mar 2026 (corrected 17 Mar 2026)Verified What changed

Every AFPC PFRA score chart in one place: the minimum and full-points value for each event by age group, with the full chart rows and a score lookup one tap away. Switch to the AFSPECWAR/EOD standard if you take an occupationally specific test.

The charts are AFPC’s own document, separate from AFMAN 36-2905 (formerly DAFMAN 36-2905), the manual that governs the test. This is an unofficial copy for planning: your official score is the one in myFitness.¶7.1 For the rules behind the numbers, see AFMAN 36-2905 explained.

Where Your Next Point Is Cheapest

The charts below tell you what each score is. They do not tell you which training actually moves your score, and the answer is not intuitive: every PFRA chart climbs in small steps from its starred minimum to full points, so each component has an average exchange rate — points per rep, per second, or per inch. Those rates are nowhere near equal. For a 5′10″ male under 25, taking one inch off the waist is worth about as much as seven more push-ups.

Set your sex, age group and height below to see what a realistic improvement in each component is worth, ranked.

Biggest single gain available to you: 10 more reps on the sit-ups — worth +5.0 points.

  • 10 more reps: Sit-ups need 25 reps to go from the minimum to full points; the cross-leg reverse crunch needs 25.
  • 10 more reps: A crunch is worth the same as a sit-up here: both bands are 25 reps wide.
  • 10 more reps: Its minimum here is 27 reps against 30 for standard push-ups; both top out at 15 points.

Computed from AFPC’s charts (the same tables the calculator uses), averaged across each event’s scoring band. Above the full-points value extra reps earn nothing, and below the starred minimum the event scores 0 and the test is Unsatisfactory whatever your composite. Body composition has no minimum.

General charts: AFPC’s sex-specific charts, effective 1 Mar 2026 and corrected 17 Mar 2026. Special Warfare and EOD Airmen who take an OSPFRA use the AFSPECWAR/EOD standard instead.¶1.3.3

How to Read the USAF PT Score Charts

  1. Pick the standard and sex. Most Airmen use the general charts for their sex. Special Warfare and EOD Airmen who take an occupationally specific test use the sex-neutral AFSPECWAR/EOD charts.¶1.3.3
  2. Find your age group. There are nine, from under 25 to 60 and over. The manual doesn’t say which date your age is taken from; myFitness applies it, so check with your UFPM if a birthday falls close to your test.
  3. Read the minimum and full points. The minimum is the starred chart row: 2.5 points for strength and core, 35 for cardio. Below it the event scores 0 and the whole test is Unsatisfactory.¶3.6.1¶3.7.4
  4. Open the full chart for every row. A result between two rows earns the lower row’s points. Enter a result in the lookup to find its row.
  5. Add it up in the calculator. You need 75 or more overall and every minimum.¶3.1

Score Charts vs. Interactive Calculator

The charts are the reference for exact requirements. Adding points across four components by hand, and checking every minimum, is where mistakes happen.

Our USAF PT score calculator reads the same chart data, applies the minimums, the body fat assessment path for a WHtR above .55 and the rules for assessing without a component, and shows your category. It’s a planning tool; the official score is the one in myFitness.¶7.1

What Are the PFRA Score Charts?

The PFRA score charts are AFPC’s lookup tables that turn reps, hold times, run times and HAMR shuttles into points on the Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment. AFPC publishes them as a PDF, separate from AFMAN 36-2905, the manual that sets the rules for the Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. The manual itself holds only three scoring tables: the 2-km walk times (Table 3.1), the body fat standards (Table 3.2) and the altitude corrections (Attachment 3).

The current charts took effect on 1 March 2026 and were corrected on 17 March 2026. Record scoring under them began on 1 July 2026.

Official sources: PFRA Scoring Charts, cao 17 Mar 26, AFSPECWAR/EOD charts and AFMAN 36-2905 (all PDFs). Our tables reproduce the published rows; open any chart above to see all of them.

2026 PFRA Scoring Structure (100 Points)

Age Groups on the PFRA Score Charts

The general charts use nine age groups: under 25, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, and 60 and over. Minimums ease with age. The slowest passing 2-mile time, for example, runs from 19:45 for men under 25 to 24:00 for men 60 and over, and from 25:23 to 29:40 for women.

Body composition is the same for every age and sex. The 2-km walk is the one table with different bands: under 30, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59 and 60+ (Table 3.1 of the AFMAN).

Sources: AFMAN 36-2905, Summary of Changes and Table 3.3; the September 2025 SAF/MR memo, which said the alternate components “remain authorized”; and the Air Force’s 24 Sep 2025 announcement, which said the new test “reimplements the scored body composition component” and requires a test every six months “regardless of their score”.

If you trained for the old test, re-baseline against the 2026 standards rather than converting old run times or waist measurements.

Diagnostic Tests and Scores for Record

The 1 March to 30 June 2026 baseline period, when tests were diagnostic unless you chose to make them official, was a one-time rollout; record scoring began on 1 July 2026.

The standing rule now is in the AFMAN. After a PFRA, once you’ve seen your score, you can choose to log it as a diagnostic PFRA (DPFRA), a non-attribution test for feedback. You get no more than two in any 365 days (ARC: one), and after that the result counts.¶3.8 Commanders may offer diagnostic tests no earlier than one month before the scheduled unit test, and body composition can’t be decoupled for one.¶3.4.4

A profile, pregnancy or deployment changes whether and when you test at all. See the PT test exemptions guide for PFRA Hold and the cases where you can assess without a component.

Component-by-Component Chart Guide

Muscular strength: push-ups (15 points)

Push-ups are a 1-minute test; hand-release push-ups run 2 minutes on their own chart.¶3.15.11 Neither chart is always easier: for women under 25, the hand-release minimum (17) is higher than the push-up minimum (15).

Core endurance: sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunch or plank (15 points)

Sit-ups are a 1-minute test, the cross-leg reverse crunch takes 2 minutes, and the forearm plank is a timed hold.¶3.15.12 Compare your likely points on each before you choose; the calculator does this for you.

Cardiorespiratory: 2-mile run or HAMR (50 points)

The 2-mile chart gives the fastest time for full points and the slowest passing time. The HAMR chart counts shuttles on a 20-meter course run to the Air Force-approved audio file.¶3.13.4.5 You can choose either event at each test, and cardio is half the composite.

Body composition: WHtR (20 points)

WHtR is your waist divided by your height, with one table for everyone.¶3.15.4.2 Height is recorded to the nearest half inch, and your waist is the average of three readings rounded down to the nearest half inch.¶3.15.2.3¶3.15.4.5 The ratio is then truncated to two decimals, not rounded.

Who Runs the Test

PFRA administrators at the installation Fitness Assessment Cell (FAC), or at a unit’s own UFAC, run the test, record your results on the AF Form 4446 and enter scores in myFitness within five duty days.¶3.2.5¶2.24.10 Your Unit Fitness Program Manager’s role is administrative: checking your FSQ and AF Form 469, entering exemptions and setting due dates.¶2.28.3–2.28.4¶5.1 Master Fitness Leaders train the administrators and run the reconditioning and adaptive programs.¶2.23

Scores appear on performance briefs; for that, the AFMAN points to the evaluation instruction, AFI 36-2406.¶8.1.2.4

Prepare Beyond the Charts

  • AFPC’s Warfighter’s Fitness Playbook 2.0 has official training programs, including a 2-mile run program and a HAMR improvement program.
  • Practice the exact event you’ll test, to the form standard the administrator reads out on test day (AFMAN Attachment 2).
  • Follow the how to pass the Air Force PT test guide, and re-check the charts as you improve: a few more reps can move you up a row.

Exemption and Fitness Profile Scoring Notes

Under AFMAN 36-2905, a component exemption on your AF Form 469 normally places you on PFRA Hold: no official PFRA until the profile expires and a one-month Reconditioning Period has passed.¶3.9¶4.1.2¶3.10.9 With a modality exemption you use the chart for the cleared alternative exercise.¶4.1.3

Members authorized to assess without a component (an ALC with enduring restrictions, commander-approved retention after AMRO review, or the 2-kilometer walk) have their composite calculated from the components they assess: if cardio is not assessed, strength, core and body composition (50 points max) are scaled to 100.¶3.7.3¶4.1.2.1–4.1.2.2

Frequently Asked Questions About USAF PT Score Charts

Where can I find the 2026 USAF PT score chart?
On this page, transcribed from AFPC's PFRA Scoring Charts (effective 1 March 2026, corrected 17 March 2026). The official PDFs are on AFPC's Fitness Program page. The component charts are AFPC's own document: AFMAN 36-2905, the manual that governs the test, contains only the 2-km walk table, the body fat standards and the altitude corrections.
Which chart version is current?
AFPC's charts effective 1 March 2026 as corrected on 17 March 2026 (the file name ends "cao 17 Mar 26"). The correction changed one value: male 30-34 push-ups for 3.0 points is 28, not 26. Numbers from the September 2025 charts, such as a 39 sit-up minimum for men under 25, are out of date; the final chart says 33.
How do I read the Air Force PT test chart?
Pick your sex and age group, then find your reps, hold time, run time or shuttles. Each row is a published point value, and a result between two rows earns the lower row's points. The starred row is the minimum (2.5 points for strength and core, 35 for cardio); below it the event scores 0 and the whole test is Unsatisfactory (AFMAN 36-2905 paras. 3.6.1 and 3.7.4).
Are score charts different by age and sex?
Yes. AFPC publishes separate male and female charts for nine age groups, from under 25 to 60 and over. Body composition is the exception: one WHtR table for everyone (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.15.4.2). Airmen who take an occupationally specific assessment (Special Warfare and EOD) use AFPC's sex-neutral, age-normed AFSPECWAR/EOD charts instead (para. 1.3.3).
Do Guard and Reserve members use the same charts?
Yes. The Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard use the same charts. The difference is frequency: Reserve and Guard members test every 12 months instead of every 6 (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 3.4.2).
Which chart should I use for exemptions?
A component exemption normally places you on PFRA Hold, so you do not test until it expires (AFMAN 36-2905 paras. 3.9 and 4.1.2). With a modality exemption, use the chart for the alternative exercise you are cleared for (para. 4.1.3). If you are authorized to assess without a component (an ALC with enduring restrictions, commander-approved retention after AMRO review, or the 2-km walk), use the charts for the components you assess; the composite is scaled to the points available (para. 3.7.3).
Is the calculator faster than reading charts?
Yes. The calculator reads the same chart data, applies every event minimum and the composite rules, and shows your category. It is a planning tool: the official score is the one entered in myFitness (AFMAN 36-2905 para. 7.1).
