Overview of the Cardio Component

The cardiorespiratory component is the most heavily weighted event of the Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment (PFRA), carrying a maximum value of 50 points (half of the total score). The 2-mile run serves as the primary cardiorespiratory event. Airmen must achieve a minimum time to pass, which awards 30 points (representing the 60% component floor). Running a time slower than this floor results in an automatic assessment failure.
